Muddy Explorations

The Chicago Bears weren't looking pretty, and it was seemingly nice outside, so, I took the dogs for a walk, and then venture over to the area of Poplar Creek that I had never fished before. Click here for the previous post - Local Exploring.

Armed with my 3 wt, a sweater, and the bare necessities packed in my Vedavoo Utility Belt, and Hip Pack, I set out with zero expectations.

Gray skies, bare trees, and muddy banks.

It sure was nice to get out and wet a line in some unfamiliar water.  Although, I was not able to entice anything.  Looking forward to fishing this stretch in the summer months.  I have a feeling it's a happening place for fun sized smallies and panfish.

A bass pattern I've been tying that's inspired by Nick Granato's pattern Maximum Cowbell.

Darty Sharks - Champions!

It was my first season with my cousins flag football team, The Darty Sharks. There were high expectations, because, they won it all last year in their highly competitive 7 on 7 league last year. I was stoked that I got the call and earned a spot on the defending champs roster.

We finished the regular season undefeated with 6 wins. Our defense was legendary, best in the league, the best football defense in the city of Chicago right now (including the Bears), giving up only 51 regular season points.

We continued our dominance throughout the playoffs, giving up a total of 2 points in the first playoff game. Then pitching shutouts in both, the Semi final, and Championship game.

Stoked and already preparing for next year!

KANSAS OVER!

CHAMPIONS
Overall Record - 9 wins - 0 losses
Points for - 195
Points against - 53

Bears

Went to the Chicago Bears game this weekend. Being outside in a light drizzle for 3.5 hours reminded me that I need to go fishing. I haven't been fishing in quite some time, and I know a few places for an outing before winter kicks into high gear.

Any other football fans out there...who's your team?

Put me in coach, I'm ready to play!
