Just going over some itinerary with Dave (Urban Assault Fly Fishing) for our upcoming Musky Country trip. Got me thinking about food...
I'm always jealous of the meals that Jeff (High Plains Fly Fisher) has cooked up on his trips. I'm curious what everyone else enjoys cooking out there.
What are some of your favorite campfire grilled meals?
Some chicken I cooked up on a Missouri float trip. |
good thing i just ate or you'd make me dang hungry! :)
ReplyDeleteif this was highplains spot, there'd be a PBR in that shot, somewhere. :)
There would definitely be a PBR in the shot if this was his meal. I believe I was drinking Dales Pale Ale that day.
DeleteBeing a Geezer, I've given up on campfire cooking. When the wife and I camp (in the Clipper) we haul along a small Weber. I cook what she decides we're having for dinner. It's what happens when you get old.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could start calling me old, too. The last 2 years, all of my camping trips have consisted of whatever is easiest. Lunch meat, bread, and chips seem the way to go.
DeleteSteaks and baked beans. Great food in general, even better when camping!
ReplyDeleteI have never been a fan of beans. Steak - Yes please! I'm a fan of porterhouse steaks.
DeleteMmmmm... I love camp food. That chicken looks great. Here's what I cooked on an island off Fishers Island last weekend....http://ct-swampyankee.tumblr.com/post/96271395296/campfire-clambake-under-the-lobsters-are
ReplyDeleteWow! Those lobsters and corn look great! I could only image what the full meal was like. That's 5 star camping!
